How is Ore City ISD protecting against COVID-19, flu, and other viruses?

  • OCISD is educating our staff and students on healthy practices, such as hand washing, use of hand sanitizers, and proper cough etiquette
  • OCISD’s maintenance department is working diligently to sanitize any surfaces that staff and students come in contact with
  • OCISD’s school nurses and administration are monitoring the CDC, Texas Department of State Health Services, and TEA Guidelines for COVID-19 websites for updates and any new directives concerning COVID-19 and flu outbreaks

How can YOU protect against COVID-19, flu, and other viruses?

  • Stay home if you feel ill or have a fever; you should be 24-hours fever, diarrhea, and vomiting free before returning to school
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing; cough into your shirt
  • Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available

Ore City ISD has EpiPens available for use on each campus through doctor's orders in the event of an anaphylactic emergency. These EpiPens are stored in a location that is accessible to staff at all times. OCISD staff is trained annually on food allergies, signs/symptoms of anaphylactic reactions, and on proper use and administration of EpiPens in an emergency.
